MMM Bop

Ok I know I'm supposed to be on hiatus a la BackStreet Boys...but I couldn't resist letting you ladies (and gents?) know about this awesome site I just found out about through Fabsugar.com.

The site is called Stylebop.com. What they do is help you nab the outfit that you saw Nicole, Lindsay, Kate, and all those other stylin' divas wear. These are NOT replicas of the outfits, they are the real deal, so make sure you have your credit card ready! I know all of you can't afford these items, but you could always just look through and get a more detailed look at the outfits you have seen of all the celebs. Then, you could find exact matches at less expensive places like forever, h&m, target, etc.

Stylebop.com also has items on sale that you can scoop up right away at 30-70% off! You can even sign up for a newsletter, which will alert you through email, of new trends, hottest designers, and styles.

Fall Trends

With fall fast approaching, I'm sure you lovely ladies are wondering what the trends will be. Well, I've got them for you! [Courtesy of MSNBC that is!]
1. PLAID
Plaid is going to be the print of the season! [Please don't think catholic school girl skirt plaid, that is NOT the look we are going for! :P ] Pencil skirts are just one of example of how you can go plaid this fall.

2. Layering
In my opinion, layering will NEVER go out of style, so it is great to always have your key pieces for layering. And they don't have to be expensive. Get you some white and black tee's and tanks. Add whatever kind of shirts over it you want. A [color] such as a red will always look great with black or white. Or if you want to brave it up, get another bright fun color, such as yellow. Bright colored layering spruces up any outfit!
3. Shape shifters
Most outerwear pieces you see this fall will be full and flowy. They give your body type a different shape, hence the name. They look great paired with skinny jeans. The bubble skirt is an example of this as well. However, don't invest alot of money into a "bubble" piece, it is not a trend that here to stay too much longer. I personally don't love this trend, but hey, to each his own!

4. Sweaters
Sweaters are definitely making the come back this fall. I personally love the sweater look. I have already invested in a few sweater dresses for fall. You can dress up a sweater dress with leggings and/or boots. Another good example of a chic sweater piece is a cardigan. Such places like Old Navy, Charlotte Rusee, Forever 21, Torrid, etc. all have fun cardigans for girls of all sizes.

5. Boy meets girl
Menswear inspired looks are a must for the many business women in this world. Now, designers are starting to make a more feminine, chic look for those women. More designers are making curve hugging blazers, chic accessories, and pleated shirts, so that women can look more stylish when going to the work place. Now, this look is not just for business women. It's for any woman who wants to look clean cut and presentable, but in a casual kind of way. Pairing a curve hugging blazer with jeans look fab!

Well, tootles for now my loves!

Just do it

Back to jumping on the "going green" bandwagon, I have been looking for some cool inexpensive DIY (do it yourself) projects. These projects not only let out you inner artist and add personal touches to your wardrobe, room, etc. but it also saves the Earth by not accumulating ready made products.

I came across this cute little DIY project on cosmogirl.com. It's a wire frame earring holder. All you need is:
  • an empty picture frame
  • wire mesh
  • wire cutters
  • tape measure
  • spray paint (optional)
  • sharpie
  • thumbtacks
The first step is to paint the frame if you don't already like the color it is. Make sure to lay down newspaper to avoid stains and spray the paint in a well ventilated area. [***to go even more "green" you should hand paint the frame, because aerosol cans have been proven to damage the ozone layer and they are also not very good for us to inhale.***]

Next, after the paint has dried, turn it over and measure its diameter 1/2 from the inside of the frame. Mark the spot and measure the wire mesh to size.

Finally, use the thumbtacks to secure the mesh and hang it up!

All you have to do is hook the back of your earrings into the little holes on the wire mesh!
I don't know about you, but this is a sweet project that I'm going to try ASAP

Flat Lining

What girl do you know that doesn't like a great pair of shoes? Whether they be flats, stilettos, boots, or tennis shoes. Everyone can find a style of shoes that work well with her wardrobe. Shoes can sometimes be a bit too pricey, but we have to wear shoes right?! So, why not wear a great pair while you're at it? Payless has a vast variety of affordable shoes. There is something for everyone, even if you don't like the shoes, Payless also has accessories and purses!

My favorite shoes to buy at Payless are typically the heels, but anyone who lives on a college campus knows that walking to class in heels is a BIG. MISTAKE. I personally have to walk ten minutes to each class...everyday...back and forth. Which might not seem like a lot to others, but it does suck when it's raining, or snowing, or just plain windy like it is all year round.

The moral of the story is to head to Payless. NOW. Many of the flats are 40% off for the "back to school sale". Don't put your poor toosies in any pain, just give in and save the heels for a fun night out! ♥ A

Botkier...for TARGET!

Ahh, good ol' Botkier. I love her line of handbags. Yet, with the budget I am on, I can't afford to buy a handbag that retails anywhere from $500 to $1000. [I can drool though! :) ] That's why I thought it was so important to bring to everyone's attention that Botkier has come out with a line of handbags exclusively for Target-with out sacrificing quality! I have yet to pick up one of these beauty's, but I have been eyeing one!

The little clutch retails for $19.99 and the handbag for $49.99! What a steal!

Who is feeling the Oxford Pump?

Well for me, it's kind of a love hate relationship. I have seen some of the peep toe styled oxford pumps, like these Jessica Simpson's that I really do like, and would purchase.

Photobucket

But for $89.95, I don't think I like them that much! Wait, whats that, on sale? YES! Bakers shoes go on sale all the time, so wait for them ladies, you'll get them at a cheaper price!

I also found these little beauties from Payless for only $24.99. Now that is a price I can handle!

As for the other styles of oxford pumps, such as the closed toe, I don't think I can handle those. But hey, to each her own.

Either way, no way can deny that the oxford pump is going to take over fall fashion.
